“Small Boy” –
I made this sketch in the darkness when my son was sleeping one night, the poem came after…I wanted to make sure I got the sketch finished before he moved….

Late, late at night
and no light
just a little light
and your small outline
in the shadows
dreaming of the beloved cats
or the exotic cup of water -
the perfect size for a hand.
Far away and quiet
boy
small boy
With skin so smooth
it shines in the dark.
